Year 6 Transition

Year 6 Transition:

Whichever High School your child is going to in September, this year's transition is going to be a very different one from previous years. The pack below is designed to help you start to understand what being at High School will be like.

Y6 transition resources

There are a couple of great videos for you/your child to watch to explain what the differences will be like going from Primary to Secondary school. Follow this link  to find them.

Just One Norfolk have produced some Y6 transition resources too. The session includes videos to support building resilience and relaxation techniques and includes activities for children to complete with an adult. Follow this link to find them.

Just One Norfolk have also produced a Year 6 transition quiz  which is designed for parents to work through with their children to explore feelings about transitioning to high school and open up conversations. Find it here.

Below we have included links to all of our local High Schools. Some High Schools are sending us information about transition and we will continue to update this page with their resources.

For children moving to Hellesdon High School:

Hellesdon High School have now sent us a pack out for our pupils that are transitioning to them in September. If your child is currently attending school they will bring it home with them. We will drop packs off to those pupils who are working at home.

Hellesdon High School is part of the Norfolk Safer Schools Partnership. Please show this video to your child if they are going to Hellesdon High School so they understand how the Safer Schools team can support them. Safer Schools Team at Hellesdon High
