At our school, we are committed to helping pupils become responsible global citizens and to reducing our impact on the environment. One of the ways we do this is through Energy Sparks, a charity-led programme that helps schools understand, monitor and reduce their energy use while teaching children about sustainability and climate change.
Energy Sparks uses our school's energy data to show pupils and staff how much electricity and gas we use throughout the day. Through engaging activities and real-life data, children learn how their actions can make a difference, whether that is remembering to switch off lights, closing doors to keep classrooms warm, or encouraging others to save energy.
The programme provides curriculum-linked resources that support learning across a range of subjects, including science, maths and geography, while helping pupils develop a deeper understanding of climate change and environmental responsibility.
By taking part in Energy Sparks, our pupils are empowered to become energy champions, helping our school save energy, reduce carbon emissions and create a more sustainable future for everyone.
We look forward to sharing updates on our Energy Sparks journey and celebrating the positive impact our pupils make through their energy-saving actions.
